In time-honored tradition of cycling as a gentleman’s sport, Fondo Manila experimented with FMGR (Fondo Manila Gentlemen’s Race) in 2016. A gentleman’s race is a 4-man team time trial over a fixed course, members are expected to finish together and arrive at checkpoints at the same time. What differentiates this from other cycling races is the honor system; there are no marshalls over the course, teams are expected to keep their own time and stick to the agreed route. The first ever FMGR saw a big turnout of over 30 teams, this year Fondo Manila aims to get more particpants with a more challenging course from Sherwood Hills in Cavite going to Kaybiang Tunnel and Back for a total mileage of 110 kilometers and 1700 meters in total elevation.
